We have just been blessed lately to have many of our prayers answered. Our primary goal in being on Eleuthera is Bible Training and Equipping, however we have many opportunities for ministry during those days in between classes and training.
Emily and I spend our time building relationships in the community and learning the specific needs, hurts and concerns that people deal with each day. We continually pray that the Lord would both give us opportunities to minister to our neighbors and that He would give the people in the Caribbean a hunger for righteousness and a thirst to know Him more.
Emily has been meeting with a group of young women in our settlement. She hosts a weekly Bible study that meets the girls on their level and deals with both their interests and the contemporary issues facing young women. Recently she had a “make-up” party with them, that opened the door to address many of the issues and pressures facing young women in the Bahamas.
Along with meeting with our graduates, I have had the privilege to partner with one of the local High Schools, and to bring a chapel message each Wednesday. Although these students have many temptations and pressures facing them, they are receptive to a message that values them and challenges them to take the tenants of Christianity seriously.
Lately we’ve been blessed with great turnouts and attitudes that are attentive and thankful. Please pray that this message of hope in Christ will not only be received but will find hearts submissive towards obedience.
