11.26.09 – Thanksgiving

There’s something special about thanksgiving with loved ones, and we are thankful that this year we got to celebrate it with some of our friends here on the island, American and Bahamian friends!

One of our neighbor ministries has a director that we’re close friends with, Abe McIntyre. And this Thanksgiving the party was at his house. Everyone brought their item to contribute to the feast and with all the good fellowship and food we had plenty to be thankful for.

This week and next I’m finishing teaching our New Testament Survey class, and even though Thanksgiving is an American holiday, I still called the day off for class.

However, on Wednesday before we broke for the holiday we went around the room and everyone shared what they’re thankful for. The praises went out for many of the “big” things, like God’s grace, freedom to worship, and family and health.

However, there were also testimonies from others of verytangible gratitudes, like visas for children to live with their parents, healing from cancer, and robbers who spared a daughter’s life.

This morning we got a call from our director and his wife, they wanted to tell us thanks and express their gratitude for how God has blessed our ministry, and we echo those same feelings.

God has truly blessed us with more than we can express, not the least of which is the privilege to work, live, and ministry here. As our praises go up to God, we also include YOU – for we are most thankful for your love and support – “Happy Thanksgiving!”
