We’ve got some “new” news on Eleuthera including a round trip visit from Paul Voss our director, and a 1-way trip for the whole Fastzkie Family, not just Mike this time.
Paul visited for about a week with us here on Eleuthera for some “face to face” time. It had been months since he’d been back to the island, although we spent time with he and Lisa over Christmas.
We had some quality time together during his trip; showing him the progress down in Rock Sound, talking with some of our students, and seeing a few of the projects that we’ve got set up for this summer.
I especially enjoyed a trip he and I made up to Spanish Wells. While I was an intern years ago with EBTC, I would accompany him while he was engaged in a discipleship relationship with one of our students on the island. Traveling with him was a neat “throw-back” to earlier times, when serving was the only thing on my mind. It was a good reminder of the original attitude that drew Emily and I to Eleuthera.
While everyone was here last Sunday we attended a Haitian Church service and continued to explore how the Lord will use our ministry to impact this culture. Then the day before Paul had to leave he attended one of our Alumni Group meetings, and everyone was extremely excited to see Paul again.
Now the Fastzkies are here: Mike, Shannan, Bess and Lydia. While they were with us last summer, now they’re here for good – and almost all unpacked. Mike will be overseeing the “Team” aspect of our ministry here on Eleuthera, and there’s no one better for it.
We look forward to developing our relationships with the Fastzkies and seeing how the Lord expands our ministry influence throughout the coming months. You can be praying for all of us however, because we’re right at the cusp of a busy team season.
It will be enjoyable to have an American connection here on the island now, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with Paul… now if he can only bring the rest of the family over…
