What a fun week we had with the team from Roswell. This was this church’s second team to send down to us this year, and there were 4 people who were repeat visitors.
Roswell is a non-denominational church, and they’ve worked very hard to get as close as they can to spending almost 50% of their church budget solely on foreign missions.
During their mission trip with us we worshipped on Sunday at “Global Outreach” – a bit of a more charismatic church from what they’re normally used to or even comfortable with. However, everyone on the team loved the freedom of expression and emotion in the worship ceremony. Each Roswell team that has come down have all been to Global for church on Sunday.
The work project was a combination local clinic and our own facilities. On the clinic we worked to pour the “belt-course” which is the cement cap at the top of the wall which the roof sits on. On our facilities we poured the “cores” for the walls on our new cistern. The team was very hardworking and it was a lot of fun to work side-by-side with them again.
Most of all I enjoyed the reunion of some old friends that I made on one of Roswell’s earlier trips. The folks who give of themselves for 1 week have a beautiful view of service and becoming Christ’s hands and feet in the world.
We had some great conversations and it was just a blessing to talk with like-minded believers. I also got guarantees from many of them that they will be returning soon, we can’t wait!
