Well Emily’s folks, Don and Karolyn Pfiester have been visiting for a few weeks and unfortunately their trip didn’t exactly fall over Micah’s 3rd birthday… so that means we do what we always do… Micah gets two birthdays!
I hope this doesn’t confuse him as he gets older 🙂
It is always fun to have two times to open presents and two cakes and two parties. Emily loves it too. She decorated the house with balloons and streamers. When Micah got back from school it was “Happy Birthday To You…”
So it was only a smattering those little gifts that will fit into your luggage coming from Grandma and Grandpa, but little gifts are the best. Micah got more “choo-choo” tracks and new Thomas The Train trains; he got dump trucks and race cars.
Emily made a fantastic tasty cake with a choo-choo train on it, and we all had enough cake and juice and pop to keep us wired for hours!
Emily also invited over Sandy, and she spent the party with us. After the opening of presents and giving out of hugs we played with all the new toys.
But the funnest part game was balloon toss – we took all the balloons and untied them and tried to see how long we could keep them all in the air without falling.
Even the dog got into the game and would bark and chase the balloons and jump to him them with his nose to keep them afloat. It was a lot of fun.
We are extraordinarily blessed to have such a vibrant and loving 2.9 year old! Maybe he deserves two birthdays. If anything, its simply fun to celebrate and have a reason to eat cake. Stay tuned for his upcoming “real birthday” Birthday!
